The Congregation of the Daughters of St. Camillus was started on February 2, 1892, in Rome by Blessed Luigi Tezza, MI and Blessed Josephine Vannini. It is an international Congregation having it’s Generalate in Gorttaferrata, Rome – Italy. Following the same Charism & Spirituality of St.Camillus, it has a particular mission in the Church to give Witness to the merciful love of Christ towards the poor, through a special Vow (fourth vow) of serving the sick even at the risk of life.

The Daughters of St. Camillus Could open their first house in the Indian soil on 15th October 1972, at Kuttiyamvayal, a remote village in the District of Wayanad- Kerala. Gradually it has expanded to the other States: such as Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.

The India branch of the Congregation became a Province on 03rd September 2008, being its Central house in Bangalore. At present we are Rendering our services in fourteen communities, with different activities and missions.

Field of services: Hospitals, Dispensaries, School & College of Nursing, Homes for the aged, institutions for handicapped children, leprosy colonies , and Homes for people affected with HIV/AIDS.

To provide a holistic care to the sick with love and commitment so as to help them to regain their health and make them better persons to live with positive outlook in the society.


Mission
To be a positive force in addressing the ample needs of the HIV/AIDS persons and to alleviate the stigma and discrimination present in the society, and to give a overall quality of life by caring and supporting them.
